blank screen after final install reboot

I have the latest trial of VMWare Workstation running on a laptop in Vista SP1 Ultamite.

Latest build off of Ubutntu, VMware attached direct to ISO after final reboot a blank screen. any suggestions?

Checked the RAM amount you allocated for ubuntu.
Give more than 512 MB.
