Security updates installed automatically?

Asked by corrado venturini

On 'Software & Updates' i have set 'Dowload and install automatically' for security updates. When I start Software Updater I see a lot of Security updates pending that should be installed automatically.
I can document the problem here on Yakky:
corrado@corrado-yak-new:~$ uname -a
Linux corrado-yak-new 4.8.0-37-generic #39-Ubuntu SMP Thu Jan 26 02:27:07 UTC 2017 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
corrado@corrado-yak-new:~$ inxi
CPU~Dual core Intel Core i3-4130 (-HT-MCP-) speed/max~884/3400 MHz Kernel~4.8.0-37-generic x86_64 Up~16 min Mem~1015.8/7862.5MB HDD~1000.2GB(8.5% used) Procs~243 Client~Shell inxi~2.3.1
corrado@corrado-yak-new:~$
but I found the same problem in Ubuntu Xenial.
I ask this question because the problem was posted in:

where You can find some screenshot about
thanks

If you run:

sudo apt-get dist-upgrade

Do they install?

Yes, they install, and after next boot I see ' The software on this computer is up to date', but was expecting they are automatically installed. I kept /var/log/apt history.log and term.log to document the problem but I don't know how to attach to this question.

Could run:

ubuntu-bug software-center

And report the issue, attach the file to the bug. I don't use the software centre myself. I always use apt-get

I use apt-get too, so I was unaware of the problem until I found the question in: http://forum.ubuntu-it.org/viewtopic.php?f=30&t=618262
