HP OMEN laptop does not install ubuntu 16

on a brand new HP omen 17" I tried to install ububtu
rev 14 give me 3 error lines filled with internal references
rev 16 LTS starts regurarly but pointer does not move with touch pad
I have added an USB mouse with no result: pointer does not move
tried with keyboard with erratic results.

Has any one already faced this problem?

How did you try installing? From what medium - a DVD or a bootable USB stick?
Did you check that the installer download was error-free (e.g. md5test of the .iso file)?

medium: USB stick
do not know how to chech but i downloaded many different times
tried with keyboard but very difficult and erratic
suggestions?

The solution has been use an external dvd reader and the original ubuntu 16.4.2 LT disk
DON'T USE USB FLASH STICKS!!!!
