Setup appears when initiating computer and no way to enter in Ubuntu System

Asked by Jayhawker

Hi,

One day, after starting the computer, suddenly the Setup opened. OK I pushed save & Exit Setup but no way. When restarting, the setup again. Exit without Saving, Save & Exit setup... I've tried all these chances... but no way. I can't reinstal Ubuntu because setup opens first. And so on...

Please, any idea to solvethat?

Thanks.

Hello Jayhawker,

I suppose this happens without the CD in the drive ?

If you are in this case, you should be able to reinstall Ubuntu from the CD, but check before your BIOS, the CD drive has to be the first drive the computer boots on, in order to start the live CD.

Hope that it helps you.

Thanks, but can you explain it more. Where can I found the place which I can put the CD drive first in?

Grateful

Usually, when the computer boots and you see the first BIOS messages (CPU, amount of RAM) if you press F2 or DEL (depends on the computer) you can enter the BIOS configuration program. There you'll have to look for Boot Device Priority or something like this, and change the order (set the CD-ROM as the 1st device).

Can you help with this problem?
