Ati X1400 driver install in feisty

PROBLEM:
I can't get the accelerated driver for ATI X1400 to work in feisty. It worked fine in edgy. Now fglrxinfo shows "MESA".

MY SOLUTIONS:
* I've tried to install the "binary ati x.org video driver" from dist., which didn't work. (in linux-restricted-modules-common "fglrx" is not in the list).
* After that, I wanted to install the propietary ati-driver-installer from ati.com (Version 8.35.5) (and I deactivated "fglrx" in linux-restricted-modules-common).
  In the installation process of ati-driver-installer I forced the X-Version to be x710 instead of x720 because the last isn't yet in the supported list.
  While running "module-assistant -f build,install fglrx-kernel" I igot several errors like " /usr/src/modules/fglrx/firegl_public.c:208: Fehler: expected declaration │ specifiers or »...« before »addr« ".
  That was not too surprising, since my x.org-Version is 7.2. But it was worth a try, wasn't it? That means for me I have to wait till ati brings out a driver for x.org 7.2. Of course, fglrxinfo still shows "MESA".

QUESTION:
Do you know any other solution I could try to get the correct driver to work? While ati only supported x690, for example, and I had x700 (edgy alpha/beta), I've just installed the 690 driver and copied some files in other directories and it worked afterwards.

Yep, use method 2 at http://wiki.cchtml.com/index.php/Ubuntu_Feisty_Installation_Guide , and when you get to the patch, use number 2, worked on my feisty anyway.
