Problems with start up

Hello, I have AMD 64 x 2 and running Feisty fawn 7.04 When I start my computer I get the GRUB laoding and then nothing just a flashing curser at the bottom of the screen it says Kernel active........ and map size, i then turn off the power and start again, after about three attempts it finally loads, My last updates included one for the kernel ?? Any help please

Did you have the possibility to load an old Kernel? I think its better to form this Question into an Bug Report
