HP Pavillion and Ubuntu 8.04 no wireless

Asked by revs

I have an HP pavillion dv9000 series that Vista crashed on. Decided to try Ubuntu. Downloaded Ubuntu Hardy Heron and installed it. Runs great. Only problem is, no wireless. I can get a wired connection to work, but no wireless. When I type iwconfig I get the following:
lo no wireless extensions

eth0 no wireless extensions

wmaster0 no wireless extensions

wlan0 IEEE 802.11g ESSID: "xxxxxxxx" my assigned ID
            Mode:Managed Frequency:2.412 GHz Access Point: Not-Associated
            Tx-Power=27dBm
            Retry min limit:7 RTS thr:off Fragment thr=2346 B
Link Quality:0 Rx invalid crypt:0 Rx invalid frag:0
            Tx excessive retries:0 Invalid misc:0 Missed beacon:0

Sorry, had to type this on my Vista desktop. For some reason it won't install the SP update. Hope someone can help me. I have tried to set it up manually.

Thanks in advance
