How to extract files in UBUNTU.I downloaded some file but i don't know how to extract...

Can you list any more information about the file? The full file name (foo.tar.gz, foo.zip, etc.) would be helpful.

Most archives can be extracted by right clicking and selecting " extract here ", however if you provid ethe information as Kurt asked we can be of more assistance.
