windows 10 secure boot
I have been using Ubuntu for more than 10 years because it does what I want quicker, more reliable and does not waste time updating when traveling.
However I find I need windows more and more to interface with other equipment for updates etc. Never had a problem installing before, but this time there is a secure boot issue.
The machine is a Dell inspiron 15. When altering the bios to boot from the USB I had a look around and in so doing a warning came up stating.
disabling secure boot might result in having to re-installing windows.
I did not disable secure boot, but kept this message in mind.
When installing Ubuntu the statement disable secure boot to use third party software.
I looked on Ubuntu help and found nothing to reassure my concerns.
-: Will disabling secure boot damage the windows operating system.
-: I have not used windows for so long I am not even sure that if making a windows recovery USB will enable me to recover the system if it all goes terribly wrong.
Lastly the machine was delivered this morning had it for 6 hrs. Off course the first 3hrs are spend setting it up followed by continues updates. I am already fed up with windows and hope someone could help me sort it out soon.
