No boot device

Asked by JonnySchon on 2008-09-12

Here's my story. I had a look at Ubuntu by turning on my mac and restarting, I then had a look and decided I was going to install it on boot camp. So I clicked shut down the disk came out and I booted up my MacBook again, but this all the that came up was a message saying NO BOOT DEVICE -- PLEASE INSTALL BOOT DISK now I've tried restarting and going back to the installation menu to see if there was a way to quit and continue your normal boot up. But nope there isn't,

so can someone please help me,

please check hardware in BIOS See if your drive is detected,if none it could be hardware failure particularly hard drive.
are you sure kubuntu is compatible with macbook or its hardware?
Is this error message manage by BIOS or Mac OS? what i mean is Mac OS is not yet loaded.
