Can Ubuntu 8.0.4 work with 64 bit processor?

Can you provide more information, such as what video card you have in your computer?

You can get this info by typing "lspci | grep Display" in a Terminal.

Have you inabled the drivers (incase of nvidia and ATI i blive this is nesesery).

I have 64bit core 2 duo and Nvidia 8800GTS running with full effects.

my problem is solved, after loading ATI drivers the system is working fine and with special effects and good screen resolution.
