help installing ati drivers on ubuntu 8.04

can someone please help me to install my ati graphics adapter on ubuntu 8.04.

hi
To install drivers for your graphics card,
go to system-administration-synaptic package manager
in the search type in envyng
 install it
you will then find it in applications-system tools
open it and tell it to install the drivers
it is a great program best to let it detect the driver for you.

thanks, but i cant seem to find the system tools in applications

Open a terminal (Applications > Accessories > Terminal) and type in

gksudo envyng -g

Type in your password in the dialog and you are good to go! Select Install the ATI driver and envy should do all the work for you!
