Ubuntu won't save wireless settings in live CD

Asked by bushtuckerman

Installed Ubuntu 8.04 on my laptop. I've got wireless internet connection with my Netgear WPN511 PCMCIA card, but each time I reboot the laptop I have to untick "enable roaming mode" then in "configuration" I select "DHCP" (don't get a connection unless I do this) then wireless connection works. But when I reboot it looses these settings and I have to do it all over again. Anyone got any ideas on how it can save my settings?

I think it might not save the wireless settings because I am using live CD. If this is the case I find it strange when I boot up in the live CD that certain other settings are saved, like the desktop and even updates for Ubuntu. Can someone confirm this?

Yes confirm the Ubuntu install live cd don't save any settings... (please install it to get more speed and obviously all works and settings saved).

Hope this helps
