monitor shows only in red

Hi Launchpad people
Just installed 8.04 on a Dell gx110 which previously had windows xp prof. However now the monitor shows only in red. I've run the updates and it says my graphics are up to date.

The monitor itself is fine - I know because I share it through a KVM switch for another PC running win xp home.

Any suggestions please?

Hi, dbas.

I'd guess it's the cabling. Are the ends firmly inserted in the sockets? Is your KVM working properly? (try switching the inputs).

Many thanks. Yes it was the cable. I must have damaged it in the process of setting up the PC.
