backing up data

Asked by bx

It would appear, one of the biggest scare factors for people implanting ubuntu into their boxes is the issue of being able to back up data safely in all areas such as floppy, zip, cd, and some of the newer stuff. I know some of these things are really antiquated at this point, however there are alot of people still using them out there. For instance, I have yet to be able to mount my zip drive and backup data since my install quite some time ago and there seems to be no attention being given to solving this riddle. I am able to mount the floppy and save to it but with a sense of uncertainty at best. Please can somebody address this? That said, Ubuntu does actually rock! and much applause is due! TX BX

Do you have a specific problem that we can help with ?

I understand your frustration, but we (as a volunteer support group) aren't really able to help with general gripes, but specific issues can be looked at in depth.

Without knowing what your exact problem is, and what zip-drive you use. Here are some starting points to look at. Maybe they will solve your problem, or at least get you in the right direction.
