I can't make my wifi work (atheros)

Asked by Melzy

I did my research and tried the suggestions of people in the internet which basically revolves on two methods: 1)madwifi and 2)the wrapper thingy.

WRAPPER THINGY:
After the steps in the net, my system tells me that I have successfully installed the .inf of atheros' windows driver. My wifi still doesn't work. There was no wifi option in my network connection.

MADWIFI:
I downloaded the one in their website. I did the make, make install. That was successful. I also typed the "modprob ath0" command. I didn't get any response so i didn't know if it was ok or not. After that my wifi still doesn't work and when i type "iwconfig" I can't in the list ath0 which was supposed to be there if the installation was successful.

Any suggestions on what I should do?

Thank you!
