sudo add-apt-repository ppa:colingille/
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get install winusb
Then use that tool to make the install media. Are you not enjoying Ubuntu?

The application I gave may do it. I've not used it myself.
I don't get how Ubuntu is confusing. You search the Dash for what you want and lots of common applications down the side for quick access. You can pin applications to the launcher as you like.
If all you are doing is social media and web browsing then Ubuntu will do you well.

It's not for putting data on a DVD (I don't this a CD is big enough). If you want to use a DVD then Ubuntu comes with Brasero by default and you can burn the ISO to the media using that.
The application you installed is for putting the data onto USB to install from that instead of optical media.
You don't need any archive manager. That is no part of this operation. Yes it can handle ISO files but it's not used in this case.
What "Windows files" do you want to use?

winusb usage

winusb --install <iso path> <partition>
Example: winusb --install win7_amd64.iso /dev/sdd1
Completely format a drive and install the ISO on it
winusb --format <iso path> <device>
Example: winusb --format win7_amd64.iso /dev/sdd
Options
--verbose, -v Verbose mode
--help, -h Show this help message and exit
--noColor Disable color

Did it not add an application in the Dash? Did you try searching it?
Press your Windows key and search for the application there. Is there an entry?
