login problem with https://help.ubuntu.com/

Asked by Andrew Mathenge

I have a lauchpad ID. When I login to https://help.ubuntu.com/community, instead of my login ID at the top-right corner of the site, I see the following:

Logged in as https://login.launchpad.net/+id/F8Cmxnd

Because of that, I'm unable to change any of my UserPreferences. The error message when I try to change UserPreferences is:

Invalid user name 'https://login.launchpad.net/+id/F8Cmxnd'. Name may contain any Unicode alpha numeric character, with optional one space between words. Group page name is not allowed.

This does not happen when I login to the main community support page. Only the help wiki.

https://login.launchpad.net/+id/F8Cmxnd -> "OpenID Identity URL for Andrew Mathenge"

Something to note, is the OpenID feature is still in beta: https://help.launchpad.net/OpenID

Can you help with this problem?

Provide an answer of your own, or ask Andrew Mathenge for more information if necessary.
