screensaver frozen

Asked by Ingalls

I have ubuntu 8.04 and I was scrolling down the list of screensavers. When I got to a screen saver called molecules the whole screen and the keyboard freezes. Now whenever my screensaver comes on it says construction molecules and freezes up.

Can I uninstall individual screensavers?

you can disable the screensaver

give this command in a terminal

gconftool-2 -s /apps/gnome-screensaver/idle_activation_enabled --type=bool false

Hi..I ended up going into synaptic package manager and 'unticking' gnome screensaver and that has worked perfectly!!
