Repository errors

Asked by Gabriel Funvake

When trying to reload package information I get the following errors:

1. Could not download all repository indexes
This error lists a number of repositories stating that they were not available, all of them on the server "http://za.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/dists/...."

2. GPG error: http://debian.gfoss.it etch Release: The following signatures couldn't be verified because the public key is not available: NO_PUBKEY DC301BCED2016B47

I assume that I need to find a different mirror for my updates, but don't know where or how to do this.

I also don't know how to correct the debian public key issue.

Please assist!

Here is an unofficial ist of repository mirrors:

http://kaisman.free.fr/dotclear/index.php?unofficial-list-kubuntu-606-dapper-drake-repositories

I hope this helps

Thanks, I will certainly have a look at it, however, I still don't know how to configure my system to read from alternate OFFICIAL repositories. (Nor what those alternatives are...)

The absolutely official one is at

http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/

I also use

http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/

Maybe that gives you a start. I haven't found a complete list so far.

To configure your system to use the sources you need to go to System --> Administration --> Software properties.
