Gnome task bar disappeared

Hi,
Yesterday I tried to install in firefox flash plugin. after installing, upgrading, updating .... finally got fixed by following the instructions in this Question #43645. Now my gnome task disappeared. I don't know whether new updates, caused this problem. please some one help me on this..

My ubuntu version seems Ubuntu 8.04.01

Sorry.. it is not Gnome task.
 It is Gnome task bar.

Are you only missing one task bar? i.e. Do you have a top or bottom task bar still?
If so, adding a "new panel" by right clicking on either will add the missing one.

Hi,
I lost both top and bottom task bar. I logged out and logged in. it just seemed to appear for few min and disappeared. I tried all possible steps. finally I restarted my PC and selected the recovery mode. it fixed my problem.
