Asked by Johnnynpr

I'm a newbie to Ubuntu/Linux. I'm trying to install a program called weather display. This program allows me to retrieve data from my oregon scientific weather station. The web address for the program is http://www.weather-display.com/files.php. Can anyone help me.

The program runs OK here.

You need to install two applications that are required. This can be done by running the following command (accept dependencies).

  sudo apt-get install libgtk1.2 libgdk-pixbuf2

Once done download the following version of the app you want i.e.

 http://www.weather-display.com/downloadfiles/WeatherD.tar.gz

Extract it to the location of your choice. Then in the terminal navigate to the 'wdisplay' folder and run the following.

  sh GoWeather.sh

The application will mess around then open up for you fine. :-)
