Hello windowsuser,

I am glad you've asked this question. You can use thie Xubuntu on your laptop.

Xubuntu is an official derivative of Ubuntu using the Xfce desktop environment. It is intended for users with less-powerful computers, or those that require a highly efficient desktop environment on faster systems. Xubuntu features primarily GNOME applications.

Minimum system requirements

To run the Desktop CD (LiveCD + Install CD), you need 128 MB RAM to run or 192 MB RAM to install. The Alternate Install CD only requires you to have 64 MB RAM. To install Xubuntu, you need 1.5 GB of free space on your hard disk. Once installed, Xubuntu can run with 192 MB RAM, but it is strongly recommended to have at least 256 MB RAM.

Please visit http://www.xubuntu.org/ to get a copy.

Best regards,
nlksg

Hi windowsuser,

I am sure you can use xubuntu as your primary operation system. If you want to verify, you can download the latest Live CD from the http://www.xubuntu.org/get and try out.

You need minimum 128 Mb RAM to run Live CD or 192 Mb RAM to install the operation system.

Make sure to download it from the nearest server.

Best regards,
nlksg

Hi windowsuser,

1. linksys wireless networking card
This can verify with Live CD

2. your avg antivirus
The best thing. . . . you don't need antivirus for your linux system. Linux systems are far more secure than windows system.

3. msn and yahoo messenger
You can use almost of any type of IM at ubuntu. I've been using pdigin for my msn, yahoo and gtalk.

4. and your psp?
Good news, many people report that they can connect their psp with the ubuntu linux. I am sure you can do it too. Please visit https://help.ubuntu.com/community/PSP

Best regards.
