Cannot snap install canonical-liveupdate

Trying to install canonical-liveupdate from a virtual workstation image. Get error: cannot install "canonical-liveupdate": Get https://search.apps.ubuntu.com/api/v1/snaps/details/core?channel-stable&confinement=strict: x509 : certificate signed by unknown authority.

Ubuntu newbie trying to evaluate for Enterprise purposes. Can sudo apt-get update ok

Have tried updating and refreshing the certs.

Any ideas please ?
