como hago funcionar wifi en IBM thinkpad R40

Instalo Ubuntu en mi IMB Thinkpad R40, se actualiza cuando se instala mediante el wireless, y final,ente cuando termina la instalación, este se desconecta y no lo detecta, como lo puedo hacer. Uso la ultima version de Ubuntu 8.04.1. Gracias.

entra a una terminal y escribe lspci y das enter
y pegas la salida que te de, de esta manera podremos saber que chip
inalambrico tie tu laptop, y nos queda mas fácil ayudarte

Bueno, tu tarjeta es una AIRONET Wireless Communications Cisco Aironet
Wireless 802.11b, revisando en google encontré lo siguiente:

además de un bug:

te recomiendo cambies de kernel a 2.6.24-19

o te esperas que ya en ontubre sale hardy y según leí en el foro ya
esta soportada
