New To Linux. Need to install ubuntu 14 version

Hello,
I am very new to Linux. Have been reading Linux from few days.
I have to work on Arm cortex A9.
To start with I just installed VM ware tool and now would like to install ubuntu 14 version.
I am confused which one to down load unbuntu desktop or ubuntu server or ubuntu ubuntu cloud or ubuntu kylin or ubuntu core.
Please help me which one to down load.
Also please help me with any installation step to follow.
I am using DELL laptop with Windows 7.
