Audio Video drivers for Ubuntu 8

Asked by Damian808

I have recently installed Ubuntu on my home machine, and I'm loving the change. However, I do not have an internet connection.

Is it possible for me to download the audio/video drivers/codecs I need for Ubuntu before hand to take them home and install them?

Please help, as I'm keen to get my system up and running so I never have to look back...

Thank you in anticipation,
D

If you download the correct DEB-files for the repository you can install them with the following command.

# sudo dpkg -i <file.deb>

On the website http://packages.ubuntu.com/ you can search for the right DEB-files for your installation.
