Install Linksys WPC 11v4 wirless card with CD

I have been trying to get the wireless working with Ubuntu 8.04. I have tried downloading the driver for a Linksys WPC 11 v4 wireless B adapter, could never do anything with it after downloading and extracting to Desktop. I tried a bunch of things found documentation and other places. I have the windows installation cd. is there a easy way to install from the cd. I tried one persons tactics but the commands were not accepted. This is a complete 8.04 no other os on the hd. I saw in one place that someone had success with this device but didn't say how they just went on about another one. Please help I have gone this far just getting Ubuntu to run. The ethernet hard wire works fine, but you can only go so far with wire.
