MLdonkey configuration ?

New to Ubuntu (8.04 - Gnome)

How do I set up MLdonkey?
I've always used torrents but never emule, amule or edonkey so I'm clueless!
A step-by-step answer or an "non-technical-easy-to-understand" link/tutorial would help.
So far I've tried the intuitive approach which didn't work since I cannot even have the servers connected :-(
