how to use a binfile

When i try to open frets on fire.bin it says that there is no application for that file type. I did install the Linux version.

try to use gedit
or nano from terminal

nano fire.bin

It seems you downloaded Frets on Fire from developers web, didn't you?
That file seems to be the main executable one, right clik on it, there's a mark to select if it can be executable, select it and click apply. Then double-cick will work as expected on that file.

There's an easier way, but it requieres internet access during installation process:

1. Launch Synaptic, it is In System menu.
2. Double-click on frets on fire
3. Click on apply
4. Wait for completion. Frets on Fire is being downloaded and installed.
5. Launch Frets on Fire from Applications/Games.
6. Enjoy!
