need to know if nokia software package can be loaded on ubuntu alsohaving problems wit modem ubuntu does not see itit is a mecer usb V.90 56k

Hi
I would guess that the nokia software package doesnt work on ubuntu.
That being said if you look in synaptic package manager
system>administration>synaptic package manager
Then search for "nokia" there would be an application that would work most of the functions.
About the modem the driver probably isnt working.
What happens when you insert the cable into the modem?
