How do I change the default cd audio player in Hardy Heron?

Asked by Jim J

When I insert a CD, rhythmbox starts and tries to play my CDs.

How do I change this if I don't like rhythmbox?

There used to be an option under Preferred Applications in the Gnome system menu, but it isn't there anymore.

Have you actually tried to use Preferred Applications to do what I asked?

What I said was that you used to be able to do it with Preferred Applications and now you can't.

I can open Preferred Applications, but there is nothing under the multimedia tab that lets me tell the system how to handle autoplaying audio CDs.

That's what I need help with.

Never mind.

I found the answer.

1. Open Nautilus
      - click Places -> Home Folder

2. Choose the Edit, then Preferences menu item

3. Click the multimedia Tab.

4. All media handling can occur there, including multimedia players.
