cant connect to internet

hi, i am having great problem with ubuntu 8.04, everything went fine but internet
i try disable the IPv6 it no go,
i can get dns o work but not to receives page or do file
i run test on network tool
i can ping no problem and some other
now i cant think anything else can u guys help please

To help you better we need some infos about your hardware so please open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:

lspci

lspci is lower of LSPCI

copy and paste result here.

Then type:

ifconfig -a

copy and paste result here.

Can you retry to disable ipv6.

Howto disable ipv6

Please use this official method to disable ipv6 https://help.ubuntu.com/community/WebBrowsingSlowIPv6IPv4

In short, open Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type

sudo sh -c 'echo blacklist ipv6 >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist.local'

give your user password when requested, you don't see nothing when you type it, then press enter.

The above command appends a line to the local blacklist configuration. The file will be created if it does not exist.

To restart your computer, type:

sudo reboot

Open a Terminal from the menu Applications->Accessories->Terminal and type:
