Microphone problems

Hello I use Xubuntu 8.04 and I have some problem with my microphone settings. For some reason my mic is not working, but it was working a few hours ago, I am sure about that that it is just some settings problem! Just I don't know where to search!

First, verify that is correct plugged in your Pc.
and Second, verify that xfce4-mixer don't have mute (zero).
