Cannot switch work spaces

Asked by Tony Pursell

I can move windows to another work space but I cannot switch to that work space using any of the methods given in Help. The only way I can get the window back is to use preferences and change to just one one work space.

Is this a bug or is there something I can do to enable work space switching?

I am using Gnome in ver 8.04

The methods specified in Help are:-

1) In the Workspace Switcher applet in the bottom panel, click on the workspace where you want to work.

2) Move the mouse pointer over the Workspace Switcher applet in the bottom panel, and scroll the mouse wheel.

3) Press Ctrl+Alt+right arrow to switch to the workspace on the right of the current workspace.

4)Press Ctrl+Alt+left arrow to switch to the workspace on the left of the current workspace.

Yes I am using Wobbly Windows

Strange. I went into System > Preferences > Appearance > Visual Effects and selected 'Normal'. That enabled Workplace switching and disabled Wobbly Windows. However, I can re-enable Wobbly Windows without disabling Workplace switching.
