when i say "works", i mean "works in ubuntu".

Infact i already have a webcam working in windows, but i completely passed to ubuntu and ready to buy a new webcam. If ubuntu is offering webcams, i will happily buy one.

As I see the webcam you want to buy is a Logitech. That sould give no problem in Ubuntu, anyway here's a few tips:

1) troubleshooting on how get your camera to work in Ubuntu, if it doesn't automatically:
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/Webcam

2) infos on webcam support in Ubuntu:
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/HardwareSupportComponentsMultimediaWebCameras?highlight=(webcam)

3) logitech site in which there's a list of tested webcams that work on linux:
http://www.quickcamteam.net/hcl/linux/logitech-webcams

hope it helps!

I purchased a cheep Logitech QuickCam Chat, connected to my USB, started aMSN and all worked great. No problems. Ubuntu or aMSN deteced the cam without me doing anything.

Cheers
