one possible solution would be to use WINE, and run the windows version... (www.winehq.org for detaield info on WINE)

To get it, run this in a Terminal:

sudo apt-get install wine

I have no experience with running WINE on a server, but i can imagine that it would run Lotus Notes just fine... sorry i cant give any better info. Google is always friendly though... from a little searching with that, i found these articles which may be of interest to you:

Hope this helps!

Thanks for the answer bro,

But sorry that links refer to Lotus Notes 8,5 that only work well for Ubuntu 7.01

My Ubuntu edition is 8.04, and that link file don't work on my Ununtu.

Other Solution ?

as i said before, running a windows version of Notes under WINE is an option... i found the page about lotus notes 7 under the WINE appDB here:
http://appdb.winehq.org/objectManager.php?sClass=version&iId=3432&iTestingId=25831
though these results are a bit dated, as WINE i on version 1.12 now, and the latest results here are from version .9.61

i believe that this might be the only option for using Lotus Notes 7, since its only supported under windows as far as i know. however if you were to upgrade to lotus notes 8.5, you would have full ubuntu hardy support, and those links i posted before would be perfectly valid. sorry i cant be of more help :(

Hello,

You can use different ways:

1. Lotus Notes 8.0.x - officially not support Ubuntu, only RedHat and SuSe, but on my desktop this works fine. You can convert RPM package to DEB and install it on your Ubuntu.
2. Lotus Notes 8.5 Beta 2 - officially support Ubuntu
3. Lotus Notes 5.x, 6.x, 7.x - through Wine - work fine ;)

Regarding 1 and 2 - you can download trial or beta version of Lotus Notes client on www.ibm.com site. Or through Passport Advantage :-)

I hope my answer help you.

Regards, Alex

Lotus Notes 8.5 is supported on 8.04 and 8.5 FP1 seems to works quite well on Jaunty 9.04.

Can you help with this problem?
