downloading windows programs

I downloaded wine,,,,the windows emulator,,,i downloaded aim 6...from www.aim.com

after i did all the steps and its download i open up aim 6 through the wine application,,it says starting aim 6 at the bottom bar of ubuntu when you start a window up,,but after a few seconds,,the aim and the startup disappear,,,i know i can use pidgin,,,,but i personally hate the program,,,could someone please help me

oh sorry i get you wrong answer... amsn isn't multi protocol like Pidgin.

Head over to www.winehq.org and search the AppDB for the program you wish to install. There should be some information regarding if the program is compatible as well as a how-to on installing it and making it run on Linux.
