MS-DOS program (Panansonic pan-poll)

Asked by dq

What is the best way to install this program?

I can't find a compatible format in Ubuntu to open the install.exe file on the floppy disk.

Is there some sort of special download for MS-DOS that needs to be done?

You may attempt to run the application with dosemu er dosbox. These applications can easily be installed with the Add/Remove Programs tool.

I hope this helps :)

DOSbox is a very good choice for trying to run DOS programs in linux. Though i've only ever used games, and a few coding tools (found an old copy of a Turbo-Pascal compiler in a dumpster :)) all of them have worked flawlessly, save for a little tweaking with the config file. It supposedly even supports installs of windows 3.1, so id assume that it will work for your application. just remember to read the documentation included with it, so you know how to mount the drives correctly (or you can copy all the data into a folder in your Home).

for some reason, i dont believe the default DOSbox install includes a config file, but if you decide to use it, i can paste a copy of my own config file here, and describe where to place it, etc.

good luck!
