Asked by larry stevens

I have 2 different computers in different places with the same internet connection. The mouse does not work on either computer. The mouse does work on my laptop, witch I am writing on, and is the same internet connection. What's going on? And how can I get my 2 desktops back running?

Is the pointer simply not moving or does the entire desktop environment hand?
I.e. can you do things by keyboard within the DE?
Hit Alt+F2 - does the run dialog appear?

If the latter is not the case, boot into Recovery Mode, drop to a root shell and run 'dpkg-reconfigure -phigh xserver-xorg'

It seems almost impossible, but the problem is fixed with 2 new mice. took new mice out and tried old mice and they don't work. put new mice back in and they work like a champ. One of the old mice is wireless and the other is wired. this whole thing makes no sense to me, but the system is running good.

2 mice broke at the same time?

That's quite wicked...
