delete folders

Asked by Jean

Hello, when I installed drivers (nvidia), programs (Opera), etc for Ubuntu, the default download was on the desktop. Can I safely delete those folders and (extracted) files, or is there a risk that Ubuntu references a file in one of those folders (eg: get a driver each time I use a certain device) during routine operation. I spent 2 days getting my monitors to work; I would not like to loose nvidia drivers by deleting the folders.
thanks very much, jean

Hello

How did you install the driver? Through the extracted folders by compiling huh?

If you have installed the drivers, it should be safe to remove the folders.

To be sure you could move them into your home folder from the desktop, if that causes no issues, you could then proceed to delete them.

Hope that helps
