gtk-gnutella installation

Hi,
I have downloaded gtk-gnutella0.96.5 for updating it but when i type sudo apt-get install gtk-gnutella0.96.5 this message comes out to me:

Lecture des listes de paquets... Fait
Construction de l'arbre des dépendances
Lecture des informations d'état... Fait
E: Impossible de trouver le paquet gtk-gnutella-0.96.5

I dont know what to do, Please help me

Hi, what did you download exactly? If you downloaded a .deb package (i.e: gtk-gnutella0.96.5.deb) to install it open a terminal and go to the folder where the .deb file is and type the following command:

sudo dpkg -i gtk-gnutella0.96.5.deb (following the above example)

in hardy repo are the version 0.96.4-2 you have downloaded the package from where? is a .deb or source file?

it is a tar.bz2 compressed file

yes

sudo apt-get install gtk-gnutella

should install gnutella
