motherboard bios 6 hours ahead of Ubuntu time issue

Asked by joe blough

why is my motherboard bios always 6 hours ahead of current time with Ubuntu 16.04. I've tried all settings in Ubuntu time and date like 12 and 24 hour and manual and automatic, set and reboot, set and reboot. nothing works. the times just will not match together. will it affect anything? seems to work ok anyway if I leave it alone. I have this problem on 4 or 5 deferent computers. Intel or AMD and different motherboards old and new

Do you dual boot the system?

If you use NTP does it correct the time in Ubuntu. Did you set the correct time zone?
