Password error

 Using Add Remove Applications to install adobe, I get the following error (password entered is correct):

Failed to run /usr/sbin/synaptic '--hide-main-window' '--non-interactive' '--parent-window-id' '33554444' '--set-selections-file' '/tmp/tmpHBSL8Q' as user root:
 Wrong password.

Hello !

Are you sur you entered the right password ? (the one for your own account) ?

Did you try to launch Synaptic directly ? (there is a menu entry for it)

Alternatively you could try and install it using apt-get and see if you get a similar error...

Open a terminal [Applications > Accessories > Terminal]

Input the following command:

sudo apt-get install acroread
