I'm thinking there is a problem with the deb file. Try downloading it again and starting over. If it still fails can you copy/paste the whole console text?

I downloadet it again (it isn't special package for ubuntu - just .deb) and I have other error:

[console output]
# dpkg -i gimp_2.2.4-2_i386.deb
dpkg: error: gimp_2.2.4-2_i386.deb (--install):
unable to open to read file: `/var/lib/dpkg/tmp.ci/control' containing package info: No such file or directory

[console output might be different - I translate it directly from polish I have and my english isn't very good ;)]

Have anybody has package with gimpshop? Compilation from sources is last way I want to try...

Can you help with this problem?
