issue with mac g3 question

Trying to install ubuntu on a g3 600mhz graphite older imac with 60 gig and 512 mb. It loads the cd chimes the music then leaves me with a black screen 6.06 version, it also load all the drivers but i get no images only when its loading whats needed to start then i am staring to black space, is this a wrong version for my imac?

after i followed all directions from the forum there i get an error message stateing failed to start the X server (your graphical interface) It is likely not set up correctly would you like to view the X server output to diganose the problem

6.06 version i got it last night to work had to make all the changes. will i have to do this for the live cd until i install it

Glad to hear that you got it working. Well a simple answer would be yes, you will have to do it for the live cd until you install it. A little more complicated answer would be you can have it save your settings to a USB memory stick or such. Though that is much more complicated and can be best answered by the Live CD Persistence page https://help.ubuntu.com/community/LiveCDPersistence
