I think it's best to try to solve the problem right here, so the information is accessible to other users.

First of all, you'll have to provide a bit more information. What version of Ubuntu did you install, which wireless card/chipset do you have, and what have you tried so far to solve the problem?

okay... well... I installed Ubuntu version: 7.10

How do i check the wireless card/chipset?? (sorry i am a total noob to ubuntu)

And so far i have tried to download ndiswrapper but that didn't work, or i did something wrong and i have tried putting the information in but still, nothing...

Linksys won't help because they are not trained in ubuntu... and thats pretty much it...

Please open a terminal up and do the following:

i open up the terminal and type it in and it says...

Cameron@cameron - desktop: ~$ Ispci
bash: Ispci: command not found.

Odd. Try doing:

'/usr/bin/lspci'

If that does not work please do the following:

'locate lspci'

Cameron@cameron -desktop:~$ /usr/bin/Ispci
bash: /usr/bin/Ispci: No such file or directory
cameron@cameron-desktop:~$ locate Ispci

then it does nothing just goes down to a

Cameron@cameron-desktop:~$ and a little blinky thing

Would getting the latest version of ubuntu help?

didn't mean to say the problem was solved whops =/

It might. At least a reinstall of the current version should help, because the lspci command is supposed to be installed by default. So something went wrong during or after the installation.

ahh k thanks... another thing...

Would it be better if i just downloaded the lastest version and put it on a flash drive (2gb)?

I would download the latest version, but I do not think a flash drive will make a difference.

But, what would the easiest way to get it on my computer if i don't have internet?

Or should I just ask for a disc off the website?

Order a disk or have a friend download and burn one.
