Acer Computer with chromebook which doesnt work How do I reepllace it with Ubuntu

I have an Acer 710 notebook with Chromebook operating system which doesnt appear to be fixable. Can I write Ubuntu over the top of Chromebook. And if so which version

I suggest you install Xenial (Ubuntu 16.04). It is the latest LTS release and supported til April 2021.

If you want something lighter and will use fewer resources then I recommend Xubuntu.

I assume you are using a C710 as I cannot find a 710 from Acer.
