Ubuntu Software center won't load and exits after about 30 seconds.

When I click on the software center tile, the program starts. It won't load, that is show anything. The boxes and rectangles where software, software types and suggestions show up are blank. After this, the program just exits or quits on it's own. I can't access Ubuntu programs that I want and need. I just want it to work! Thank you.

sudo apt-get update; lsb_release -a; uname -a

I have exactly same problem o 32 bit system -new install LTS 16.04.
Ran sudo apt-get update; lsb_release -a; uname -a
Got

Note, had same problem with 64 bit system and LTS 16.04 Fixed that by executing Ubuntu Software Center from Installed Applications and then replaced old icon.

Opps! While the "fix" for my 64bit sys brings up the Ubuntu Software site, successfully installing aps (Yahoo News) fails.
