Every morning I get the following message (se link below)
https:/
I run the action as instructed and it seems to work ok, but the message comes up again the following day. If there something I can do to eliminate this message? My machine is working ok and if I run the Update manager it tells me that my system is up to date. Thanks.

If you run:
sudo apt-get --purge autoremove
That will clear up.
If you then run:
sudo apt-get upgrade
Is it OK?

Andrew:
OK. I ran the commands requested. They took some time. I restarted the machine. Nothing broke. The message didn't show. Apparently, the machine is operating normally. Will wait until tomorrow to see if the message appears again. Will keep you posted. Thanks.

Turned my machine on this morning and the message appeared again. Sorry. It seems that cleaning up the machine (which is good) was not good enough to solve the problem. Please, advice. Thanks.

The packages listed in the error message are not coming from the standard Ubuntu repositories, but probably are provided by a PPA.
What is the output of the command
apt-cache policy netflix-desktop wine-silverligh

These packages see to stem from some PPA that you do not have enabled any more.
I suggest that you uninstall these packages. They seem to be not working anyhow.
sudo dpkg --purge netflix-desktop wine-silverligh

Manfred:
Sorry that I confused you with Andrew. My only concern on your suggestion is if by doing this it could impact adversely the wine app, or if it could break other applications that I have running with wine. Thanks.

I have no problem with the mix-up of the two names.
The error message indicates that the installation of these three packages is incomplete. So I assume that these packages do not work in the moment.
For your concern that removing them could adversely impact other software: what is the output of the command:
apt-get --simulate remove netflix-desktop wine-silverligh

Manfred:
Thanks for answering. This is the output requested.
williepabon@
NOTE: This is only a simulation!
apt-get needs root privileges for real execution.
Keep also in mind that locking is deactivated,
so don't depend on the relevance to the real current situation!

The output of the simulation shows that there are no other packages depending on these three.
All other software should continue working as before.
I suggest that you remove these three packages with the command
sudo apt-get purge netflix-desktop wine-silverligh
In case that other programs really start misbehaving because of this (which I absolutely do not expect), then you could try reinstalling these three packages. I assume that you used https:/
